PDP虛擬系統介紹
Charon-PDP creates a virtual PDP-11 environment on a standard Windows-based host system. Stromasys customers can quickly, easily, and safely phase out aging and increasingly expensive DEC hardware, and replace it with an enterprise-grade virtual PDP environment on an industry-standard x86 platform.
No risky migration projects are required, and no changes to the original software (operating system, layered products, or applications) procedures or handling have to be applied. Your end-users would not even notice that the hardware platform had been replaced!
For almost every PDP that was ever manufactured, Stromasys offers a Charon-PDP equivalent.
HP recognizes Charon-PDP as a valid PDP replacement platform to run RSX-11M, RT11, RSTS. No application source code or conversion is required, no matter which PDP hardware platform your software was running on.
Charon-PDP – Standard Host Requirements
The two models of the Charon-PDP family support the appropriate hardware for their architecture. The PDP-11/93 supports virtualized Q-Bus and the PDP-11/94 supports virtualized Unibus devices.
Storage Subsystems
Charon-PDP supports both virtualized storage as well as physical storage. Physical storage is
associated with local SCSI devices allocated to Charon-PDP. Virtual storage (container files) can reside on any storage subsystem presented to the host system. This can be either SCSI, SATA, IDE or any other local storage (including USB). Additionally, any network-attached storage can be utilized that is supported by the host, including iSCSI, SAN, NAS, Samba/CIFS and NFS.
Input/Output Subsystems
Charon-PDP provides a variety of networking and character terminal-oriented interfaces. Charon-PDP virtualizes the Ethernet controllers present in the original PDP hardware.
